The National Library of Slovakia selects MediaINFO.

MediaINFO to help index, access, preserve, and help popularize the intellectual heritage of this central European nation.

Geneza's MediaINFO is to be deployed at the National Library of Slovakia, the oldest, largest and most important national and scientific library in Slovak Republic.

The library’s vision is to digitize and preserve more than 2,800,000 written items of cultural value and interest. The project aims to digitize approximately 280,000,000 pages within 3 years.

Geneza MediaINFO was approached for its rapid deployment and very user friendly interface allowing unprecedented control over the digitized content. MediaINFO becomes part of the library's tools in its quest to become one of Europe's most modern and exciting national libraries.

Faculty of Chemical and Food technology, one from the faculties of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, the most significant technical university in Slovakia, has selected Geneza's MediaINFO solution. This central European university will primarily use MediaINFO Server as the method of distributing digital books to its numerous students. The Swiss Institute of Comparative Law (ISDC) goes live with MediaINFO

The ISDC is a governmental-academic organization that is devoted to the study of Swiss and international law.

ISDC also provides the European Commission (the administrative body of the European Union) with legal services including advice on the transposition of national and European legislation in different contexts. The ISDC's library in Lausanne Switzerland holds over 300,000 titles in approximately 60 languages. The institute selected MediaINFO to help fulfill its mission of providing the Swiss public, academia, and government with legal information and expert opinion often difficult to find elsewhere. Geneza presents at wellcome trust event London

Insights: JPEG 2000 for the practitioner.

the Wellcome Trust and the JPEG 2000 Implementation group hosted a jpeg2000 seminar in london which featured mediainfo as a case study of the format in action.

The seminar included explainations and discussion of technical issues that have an impact on the practical implementation of the format, and explore the context of how and why organisations may choose to use JPEG 2000. Geneza's CEO said: "We are pleased to share these insights with our customers and industry partners. We hope these insights will help promote cross-industry communication and collaboration on the strategic challenges facing our customers on the road to achieving effective digitisation of their collections".
